In early May, the research project DRivE – Data-Driven Route Planning in Road Freight Transport Using Various Energy Supply Technologies – officially launched.

In collaboration with MANSIO , ZeKju, Hammer Road-Cargo, Maintrans Internationale Spedition GmbH and RWTH Aachen University Park Your Truck (PYT) is spearheading an innovative initiative to promote eco-efficient, data-driven long-distance freight transport powered by alternative fuels.
The DRivE project is funded as part of the mFUND initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV). It aims to tackle the challenges of alternative propulsion technologies in heavy-duty trucking through the integration of advanced data systems. At the heart of the project is the use of real-time data from vehicles, charging, and refueling infrastructure to pave the way for a more sustainable transport ecosystem. Park Your Truck plays a key role in the design and development of parking, fueling, and charging infrastructure for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). Through its “Charge Your Truck“ brand, PYT is making a significant contribution to the electrification of truck parking areas by offering real-time monitoring and reservation solutions for charging points.
The project is expected to yield valuable insights into the adoption and operational feasibility of alternative drive systems in long-haul freight transport. PYT is working on developing integrated booking systems for both electric charging and alternative fuel refueling stations, ensuring seamless compatibility with existing logistics infrastructure. Furthermore, aggregated data from pilot trials will be made available as open data, promoting transparency, collaboration, and innovation across the sector.
